Green Press analyses Election Manifestos

Green Press analyzed the election manifestos of three major political parties and launched a media campaign to educate the voters regarding their ecological priorities and considerations. The initiative was first of its' type to promote green politics in the country.

o Green Press arranged journalists training on country's new environment law, 'Pakistan Environment Protection Act-1997'. Green Press also lobbied with the parliamentarians for its passage. The bill was passed in November 1997.
o Arranged 'Development Dialogue' with Dr Tarique Niazi who holds doctorate in Environment. The theme was What Environment Means to Pakistan.
o Green Press launched an awareness campaign on solid waste management system in the federal capital, lslamabad.
