NGOs and Press Face to Face

Green Press in collaboration with Sungi Development Foundation arranged a NGOs-Press Dialogue," Bridging the Gap. The dialogue help enrich the ongoing debate about the role of NGOs in the country.

  • Six-member delegation of Green Press accompanied Premier Benazir Bhutto to Manila, where they attended, Asia and Pacific Conference on Climatic Changes.
  • Green Press put a stall at Women MeIa, lslamabad to mark International Women Day. Its theme was," Life choices-women in Mass Media."
  • Green Press arranged a thematic film presentation in collaboration with the Association for the Development of Human Resources (ADHR). The Television Trust for the Environment (TVE)'s production, "The Debt Game-who owes whom?" was shown, which followed a lively discussion.
  • Green Press joined Coalition of Rawalpindi-lslamabad NGOs (CORIN). Green Press's Executive Director, Mr. Aniq Zafar served for two years as the Co-coordinator of the CORIN. The CORIN lobbied against the government's move to enact legislation to regulate NGOs in the country and undermine the contributions of small citizen initiatives.
