Press Freedom Report in the eyes of others

"It is a fine job indeed. It is great pleasure to know that you and your worthy colleagues intend to make it a an annual affair. God bless you all."

Zamir Niazi-veteran journalist ft writer of books, The Press in Chain, Press Under Siege and the Web of Censorship.

"In plethora of international reports prepared by journalist friendly organizations, for the first time an indigenous perspective has been incorporated in the shape of report titled, "State of Media in Pakistan".

Weekend Post, Daily, The Frontier Post, Lahore, May 10, 1996

"We have come a long way from the first attempts of Zamir Niazi to collect evidence about the dangers faced by the press in Pakistan. While Niazi's trilogy will remain classic in the field for a long time other people too have started issuing reports about what actually it is which makes the press such a dangerous profession. The report called Press Freedom Report makes very somber reading."

Dr. Tariq Rahman, "The most dangerous profession " The News July 24,1997

"Three cheers for the freedom of expression, and to hell with those are against it. Six Cheers for Zafarullah Khan and three for Adnan Rehmat. Khan has done a great service to this much-maligned but beloved profession of ours."

Zamir Niazi's e-mail on Freedom of Press Exhibition on May 3, 1999.
